In a story in last week’s Monitor, the Quitman Development Corp. was not involved in the decision involving the property at 511 N. Winnsboro St. (Towner Apartments), which was being cleared.

Mayor Randy Dunn made the decision to extend the time allowed.

The QDC’s only involvement was possible funding to clean the site if it had not been accomplished by the property owner.

It was ordered to be cleared and the fence removed by the Building and Standards Commission, although the concrete slab can remain.
