Lee McKinney

1941-2017

YANTIS-A memorial service for Lee McKinney, 76, Yantis, was held March 24 with David Allen officiating.

Mr. McKinney died March 21, 2017, at his home. He was born February 19, 1941, in Ashville, North Carolina to William and Ollie McKinney. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the U.S. Marine Corps.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Emily Collins.

Survivors include two sons, J.D. McKinney, Yantis and Tyrell McKinney, Dallas; daughter, Vera Lee McKinney, Dallas and four grandchildren.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
