Countywide health fair making plans to return to Quitman park

Heath Fair in the Park returns to Wood County on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Jim Hogg City Park in Quitman.

The Quitman Chamber of Commerce is teaming with UT Health Quitman and the Wood County Health Advisory Board to put on the event.

This event aims to bring healthcare awareness and education to local citizens by providing health screenings and access to information unique to their needs. The health screenings offered include glucose screenings, blood pressure screenings, cholesterol checks, carotid artery screenings and mammograms.

There will also be live entertainment, a walk-through inflatable colon, a chance to speak with healthcare professionals, food trucks, vendors and activities for everyone.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert
