Davidson surprised by state safety award

Posted

Wood County Fire Marshal and Emergency Management Director Tully Davidson was surprised Monday afternoon by a delegation from Texas Association of Counties (TAC).

They were here to surprise Davidson with a “Difference Maker” award for his diligence and hard work to keep Wood County safe. Isaac Garcia, Halie Bever and Todd Kisel were on hand from Austin to present the award.

Garcia said, “Essentially we have four of these awards in Texas. This award goes to people we feel are making a real difference in their community. Tully has been instrumental in influencing safety policies for the county. Tully does a good amount of training, not only here in Wood County but in Smith County, too. He has done a very good job of seeing what resources are available and knows how to use them.”

A surprised Davidson said, “I appreciate it, but it’s about being out in the field and everybody during their job, not just me. I am thankful for the people I get to work with here.”
