Extension Service schedules forum

The Texas Agrilife Extension Service is conducting its Texas Community Futures Forums in counties throughout Texas.

The extension service holds these events every five years to help identify critical issues in each county in the areas of agriculture, families and health, youth and community development.

The Wood County forum will be held Tuesday, April 16 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Quitman fellowship hall, 301 E. Lane St.

All Wood County residents are invited. Light refreshments will be served.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Come on over to Mineola’s beautiful Historic Select Theater and hear the Lake Country Symphonic Band’s Christmasy “Everything Christmas” concert.

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
