Filing continues for cities, schools
Filing continues for the May 4 city council and school board elections. Deadline is Friday, Feb. 16.
For the Alba-Golden School Board, incumbents Terry Clark and Mike Ragsdale have filed for the two positions.
For Mineola City Council, incumbents Cassandra Sampson (Ward 3) and Sue Jones (Ward 1) have filed. Three positions will be on the ballot.
Jeffrey White, Lina Ortega and incumbent Jay McGough have filed for the Mineola School Board, which has three positions to be decided, two full terms and one unexpired two-year term. White and McGough have filled for full terms and Ortega for the two-year term.
Robert Kraemer, one of the three incumbents for the Alba City Council, has filed.
Quitman City Council incumbents Todd Wright and Jack Robinson have filed. Three positions will be decided.
Meredith Hancok has filed for Place One on the Hawkins City Council and Norma Oglesby for Place Three. Two positions and the vacant mayor’s seat will be on the ballot.
Ashly Vivion and Tyra Gilbreath Kenemore have filed for the three seats on the Yantis School Board.
Incumbent Michael Hipp II and Shauna Attaway have filed for three Quitman School Board seats.
As of Tuesday morning, the Hawkins School Board had drawn no candidates.
City council terms are for two years and school board terms are three years.
