Filing has begun for the May 4 city council and school board elections.

Deadline to file is Friday, Feb. 16.

For the Alba-Golden School Board, incumbents Terry Clark and Mike Ragsdale have filed for the two positions.

For Mineola City Council, incumbents Cassandra Sampson (Ward 3) and Sue Jones (Ward 1) have filed. Three positions will be on the ballot.

Jeffrey White and Lina Ortega have filed for the Mineola School Board, which has three positions to be decided, two full terms and one unexpired two-year term.

Robert Kraemer, one of the three incumbents for the Alba City Council, has filed.

Quitman City Council incumbents Todd Wright and Jack Robinson have filed. Three positions will be decided.

Meredith Hancok has filed for Place One on the Hawkins City Council. Two positions and the vacant mayor’s seat will be on the ballot.

Incumbents Gerald Schmidt and Steve Judkins filed for two of the three places on the Yantis City Council.

As of Tuesday morning, the Hawkins, Yantis and Quitman School Boards had drawn no candidates.

City council terms are two years and school board terms three years.
