Harold Dayne Redding, 1931-2018

Funeral services for Mr. Harold Dayne Redding, 87 of Winnsboro, were Monday, Jan. 7, at the First Baptist Church in Winnsboro. Interment followed at Lee Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday at Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro.

Mr. Redding died Jan. 2, 2019 at his home in Winnsboro. He was born on Sept. 4, 1931 in Winnsboro to the late James Perry (J.P.) and Lillie Mae Redding.

He was retired as a lieutenant colonel from the U.S. Army and owner of a concrete construction and self-storage business. He also served on the local school board, the City Council, as mayor and with many other community organizations. He was also a deacon in the First Baptist Church.

He married Kitty Maxine Anderson on Jan. 16, 1953, in Dallas, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Howard Redding and Wayne Redding.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Karen Young of Emory and Kitty Redding Warren of Winnsboro; four grandsons; a granddaughter; five great-grandsons; a great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
