Inside and Outside the Picket Fence

Did I hear someone mention a plant sale? They must have been referring to the Wood County Arboretum annual spring plant sale. On Saturday, April 13, you will find a fantastic array of seasonal annuals, backed up by hardy perennials, shrubs, trees, yard art and other surprises.

Remember the early bird and the worm business? This holds true at our plant sales. We open at 8 a.m. and close at 1 p.m. Coupons may be redeemed, memberships may be renewed, and don’t forget to wander the newly configured gardens. We are proud of our gardens, our plants, our volunteers, and most of all we are proud of those in the Wood County community who have supported this non-profit effort for so many years. I could call the names, but you know who you are.

Why does an arboretum and botanical garden need plant sales and other fundraisers? Easy answer: we need to keep a’ going. Fuel for mowers, new additions to our gardens, upkeep and maintenance on the Stinson house and funds to support our ongoing educational programs. Join us on any Wednesday. The coffee is on.
