Jackets defeat Bulldogs
Aidan Shepherd of Mineola (32) and Jace Peek of Quitman (24) fight for the rebound in Friday’s 65-34 Yellowjacket home victory. The two teams concluded their regular seasons on Tuesday, Feb. 13 with Mineola at Harmony and the Bulldogs hosting unbeaten district champion Mt. Pleasant Chapel Hill. The Yellowjackets were tied for second at 7-4 with Winnsboro while Quitman was out of the playoff hunt at 3-8.
Mineola won its final game against Harmony and tied Winnsboro for second place. The Yellowjackets advance as the second-place team and face Redwater Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 6:30 p.m at Marshall.
