Jewell Marie Moehle Stehling  1923-2020

 Jewell Marie Moehle Stehling, 97, peacefully passed Aug. 7, 2020 at Mineola Heights Healthcare in Mineola. She was born to the late Ella Hohmann and David Harold Moehle on June 17, 1923 on their family ranch in Gillespie County. Jewell graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1941, then attended beauty school in San Antonio. Her courtship with Alton was through letters during WWII. He returned home on furlough and proposed. They were married on July 20, 1944 in Fredericksburg and spent 61 years together loving one another and raising a beautiful family in Arlington.

She graciously shared her cooking and gardening with friends and neighbors. Jewell bestowed unconditional love to her family through countless sacrifices and being readily available, whether, lending a helping hand, a listening ear or giving sound advice. She enjoyed a good book and always had a willingness to learn something new. Throughout her life she enjoyed quilting, sewing custom-tailored clothes, reading a good book, and she always had a willingness to learn something new. Jewell was full of joy, she loved her family, laughed hard and made a memorable impression on everyone she met. She touched countless lives during her 97 wonderful years and her memory will always be treasured.  

She is survived by sister-in-law, Shirley Loth Moehle of Schertz. Jewell was a devoted mother to daughter, Michelle Epps and husband, John of Mineola; son, Duane Stehling of Fort Worth; and foster daughter, Diane Hendrix and husband Les of Crowley. Doting grandmother of 11, John Epps Jr. from Fort Worth, Jennifer Cason and husband James of Mesquite, Amanda McGinnis and husband Josh of Granbury, Dakota Stehling (deceased), Tabor Stehling from Arlington, Sierra Self and husband Garrett of Rendon, Harley Stehling of Cleburne, Laramie Stehling of Cleburne, Shania Stehling of Fort Worth, Missy Butler and husband Mike of Kingston, Okla. and Susie Hendrix of Crowley. Loving great-grandmother of eight, Scarlet, Arabella, Viola, Thorin (deceased) and Floki Cason of Mesquite, Elaina and Brantly Self of Rendon and Vinny Butler of Kingston, Okla. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, two sisters, husband, a grandson and a great-grandson.
