Joseph Lawrence Bird
1953-2018
On Nov. 29, 2018, Joseph Lawrence Bird succumbed to his battle with cancer at his home surrounded by his loving family. Joe was an avid outdoorsman and a devoted husband, father, brother, grandpa and friend.
He was born on Aug. 23, 1953, in Grand Saline to the late Adrian Bird and Grace Bird. He was a retired mechanical superintendent for Praxair in Hawkins.
Joseph was preceded in death by parents and brother, Don Bird.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Bird of Hawkins; son, Steven Bird; daughters, Jody Monroe of Caddo Mills, Tami Isaacs of Hawkins, Kimberlee Anderson of Lindale, Angela Heffner of Hawkins; brothers, Ray Bird of Winnsboro and Rodney Bird of Hawkins; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Dec. 7 at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola. Funeral services were Dec. 8 at Beaty Funeral Home with T.D. Wilt conducting. Interment followed at Rock Hill Cemetery.
