Karch gains certification through clerks’ program

Posted

For the first time, the City of Mineola has a Texas Registered Municipal Clerk, City Secretary Cindy Karch.

Most city secretaries in small cities like Mineola are not certified clerks, according to City Manager Mercy Rushing.

This is quite an accomplishment for the city and for Karch, which shows her commitment to excellence in all that she does for the city, Rushing said.

Karch will receive her certification at the formal graduation Jan. 23, 2025.

This process took over three years of in person/zoom seminars, homework and numerous tests along with final testing and project to finish and be certified and to graduate.

“Your commitment to continuing education not only increases your abilities as a professional in your organization, but also improves the services citizens in your municipality receive. Your credential recognizes that you have invested significant time and effort to learn about all areas of municipal government and management,” according to the program’s education director.
