A celebration of life ceremony for Kenneth Eugene Guvernator, 83, of Quitman will be Saturday, April 6, at 2 p.m. at J.O.Y. Hall at First United Methodist Church in Quitman.
Mr. Guvernator died March 30, 2019, at home in Quitman.
He was born in St. Louis, Mo., on Sept. 29, 1935, to Karl and Helen (Hohnstrater) Guvernator. He was raised in St. Louis and served his country proudly in the United States Army. On Feb. 1, 1969, he married the love of his life, Donna Roberts Guvernator. In 1989, they moved to Grapevine, where they owned a Whirlpool appliance business.
Upon retirement 12 years ago, Ken and Donna moved to Quitman and became members of First United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Jon.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Donna Guvernator; one son, Mark Guvernator of Lucas, Texas; two daughters, Audrey of Wentzville, Mo., and Michele “Miki” Force of Evergreen, Colo.; one brother, Carl James of Grapevine; two sisters, Evelyn Muenks of St. Peters, Mo., and Ruth Obermark of Sand Springs, Okla.; six grandsons; five granddaughters, and two great-grandsons.
