Lady Bulldogs fall to Chapel Hill
The Mt. Pleasant Chapel Hill Lady Red Devils are ranked fifth in the state in 2021 and are just two years removed from a state championship. They showed they deserved their ranking with a 78-27 win over Quitman last Saturday.
The Lady Devils hit seven three-point shots in the opening quarter to take a 23-4 lead. A successful triple by Quitman’s Maddy Pence at the end of the first quarter was the Lady Bulldogs’ only field goal.
Chapel Hill continued to score at will making 18 three-point shots during the game. The Lady Devils took a 41-8 lead at the half and never looked back.
Chapel Hill would hit five three pointers in the third quarter as they scored 22 points to Quitman’s 13. Pence hit a pair of triples for the Lady Bulldogs and Kynlee Love also had a trey, but Chapel Hill still led 63-21 going into the final quarter. Pence led Quitman with 10 points.
The Lady Devils rolled to a final 78-27 victory. Quitman is 1-3 in District 13-3A. After a Tuesday night contest at Winona, the Lady Bulldogs have a non-district match at Campbell Friday night.
