Lady Bulldogs put the clamps on Spring Hill
Led by post Ava Burroughs, the Quitman Lady Bulldogs upped their season record to 2-0 with a solid 43-33 win over Longview Spring Hill last Tuesday. The road win was highlighted by another tough defensive outing by Quitman.
Burroughs had 15 points and dominated on the boards while Maddy Whitehurst added nine points. Other scoring for Quitman came from Lindsey Hornaday who had five points including a big three-point shot in the third quarter. Kynlee Love came through with four points and played solid defense.
Shelby Hayes added to the tough defensive play and had several assists along with hitting a triple in the second quarter. Reiny Luman had another outstanding game in the lane and under the bucket provided defensive rebounding and setting screens for teammates.
The Lady Bulldogs were scheduled to play at the Union Grove Tournament over the weekend before returning home to host North Hopkins Tuesday.
