The Mineola Lady Jackets ended their two-match slide with a straight-set win at Winona Oct. 3. The win evens their district record at 2-2.
Mineola won the match by scores of 25-9, 25-13, 25-19.
The Lady Jackets faced Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill Tuesday, before the second round of district play commences Friday at Mount Vernon.
The season has shown much promise for Coach Everett’s side. At times, the Lady Jackets have appeared unbeatable. Smooth play, active feet and hands, and reliable scoring at the net have created some memorable wins thus far. In order to dominate in this district, however, the Lady Jackets will have to find the consistency of play which characterizes all champions.
The initial round of district competition has made known exactly how the team must move forward. The district is a strong one and will demand increased focus for the Lady Jackets to advance beyond local play.
