Lady Jackets score 82 in Winona rout
The Mineola Lady Jackets went 3-0 in district play with an 82-3 rout of the visiting Winona Ladycats, last Monday.
In addition to Jayla Jackson being ranged-in from beyond the 3-point arc, Caroline Castleberry once again proved her worth in the backcourt by pilfering numerous balls from the Ladycats. Junior Jaeyla Dennis and freshman Payton Applegate both made great use of their playing time.
Although it is difficult to draw any conclusions from a game which is so lopsided, it is noteworthy that the Lady Jackets maintained their focus and discipline, even in the absence of serious competition.
There will be plenty of that forthcoming in the remainder of district play. The Lady Jackets next home game will be Friday, Jan. 5 vs. Winnsboro.
