Lake County Symphonic Band sets spring concert

Members of the Lake Country Symphonic Band will present their spring concert, “Entry of the Guests” on Sunday, March 17 at 2 p.m. and Tuesday, March 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the Historic Select Theater, 114 N. Johnson St. in Mineola, under the direction of Kelly Bennette and Mike Holbrook. 

Selections include “Entrance of the Guests” composed by Richard Wagner and arranged by Mark Prowen; “Strategic Air Command” composed by Clifton Williams. “Voyage of Magellan” composed by Kelly Bennette; “Coast Guard Day March” by Mark Ashley and arranged by William Allen Myers with the bonus of the composer being in attendance; “Festivo” composed by Vaclav Nelhybel and directed by Jim Little; “The Sinfonians” composed by Clifton Williams and arranged by Jay Bocook; “Tiptoe Through the Tubas” by Joe Burke, arranged by Jerry Brubaker and highlighted by the amazing tuba section; “USS Housatonic March” composed by Kelly Bennette; “Guys and Dolls” composed by Frank Loesser and arranged by Calvin Custer; “Whiskey in the Jar” composed by David Lovrien and commissioned by the Lake Country Symphonic Band and “Jersey Boys, arranged by Michael Brown.
