Life After Meth Ministries presents a family oriented event in downtown Alba Saturday, June 8, from 11 a.m. to dark.

The Alba City Council approved the event on Monday. Streets around the square will be blocked off for the event.

The day will include a motorcycle show, pie eating contest, face-painting, food vendors, music, silent and live auctions and praise and worship.

Life After Meth President Kevin Moree said the first such event was held recently in Canton with an overwhelming response that drew 150 Christian bikers. He said this event could be twice as large. The group is also partnering with local law enforcement agencies.

The ministry is headquartered in Alba and holds recovery meetings every Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Alba Civic Center.

For more information contact Moree at 903-638-5318, Jill Jackson at 903-449-0557 or Tessa Hass at 903-216-2761.
