Lucy Hebron, Mineola attorney, has announced plans to run for Wood County Judge. Hebron plans to run as a Republican in the 2018 elections.

Hebron moved to Wood County in 1992 and has practiced business, probate, estate planning, and bankruptcy law. She is a small business owner and manager-owner of Hebron Law Firm PLLC in Mineola. She has been active in community organizations, serving on local boards including the Mineola Civic Center Foundation Board, Mineola Memorial Library, Grace Community Healthcare, APET-SPCA, and Boy Scout Troup 385 and Girl Scouts. She is also past president of the Wood County Bar Association and volunteer attorney with Lone Star Legal Aid. She serves as adjunct professor (Paralegal Studies) At Tyler Junior College and is a certified mediator.

“Years ago when I was sworn in as a new attorney, I took an oath to support the U.S. and Texas Constitutions. I plan to extend that oath as Wood County judge, serving the citizens of Wood County. With both business and legal experience, I have the ability to administer the financial duties as chief budget officer for the county. I will work with our county commissioners and county officials to make prudent decisions with taxpayer money. As a practicing attorney, I am prepared to make legal decisions concerning misdemeanors, probate court, and the mental health docket.”

Hebron proudly calls herself an “Air Force brat,” is a 1983 graduate of Hardin Simmons University, and graduated from the University of Houston Law Center in December, 1987. She has been married to her husband, Edwin, for 31 years. They have two college-aged children, Forrest, a recent graduate of SMU and Alexandra who attends UNT. She is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mineola.

“I have practiced conservative, financial values for over 20 years while running my business. I have served my clients with integrity, in a kind and fair manner. If elected, I hope to serve the good citizens of Wood County in the same way,” said Hebron.
