Commissioners approve sheriff department hires
A promotion for one sheriff's deputy and the hiring of three more personnel for the department were approved at last Friday's Wood County Commissioners meeting.
Deputy Sheriff Dustin Moffett was moved to Patrol Sergeant and given a raise from $19.65 per hour to $19.90 per hour. To fill Moffett's position, Brandie Cunningham was hired as deputy at a salary of $19.65 per hour. Mark Carrasco was employed in corrections as a jailer at $17.06 per hour replacing a position vacated by Justin Gribbin. Betsy Riesch will fill the dispatcher slot at $17.06 per hour replacing Olivia Powell.
In another action, commissioners approved a resolution allowing Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to replace a bridge on Wood County Road 2790 at Black Creek and authorize County Judge Bryan Jeanes to sing advance funding agreements.
Commissioners further approved:
*A resolution for unclaimed capital credits
* A resolution authorizing the submission of a grant request to the Bureau of Justice Assistance for 2016 state criminal alien assistance program funding
*A resolution regarding the Wood County Investment Policy Review and Investment Officer; and the investment and collateral policy.
* Date for hearings concerning several lots at Holly Lake Ranch for May 20 at 10 a.m,.
* The revision of lots 145, 146, 147, 148, and 149 Part II, Section II at Holly Lake Ranch
* Claims, constable reports, line item transfers and budget amendments
* Payroll of $306,882,07
