Wild hog hunters and trappers will have an opportunity to take part in their sport and win some money at the same time. The East Texas Classic Wild Hog Round-Up will be held March 15-17 at the old Hallie Randall General Store in Fruitvale.

Wild hog event scheduled for Fruitvale in March
Wild hog hunters and trappers will have an opportunity to take part in their sport and win some money at the same time. The East Texas Classic Wild Hog Round-Up will be held March 15-17 at the old Hallie Randall General Store in Fruitvale.
Teams may consist of up to four individuals and the cost per team is $100.
Dead hogs will be donated to the Tiger Creek animal rescue facility and hogs captured alive can be sold.
Entries must be signed up by Friday, March 15 at 5 p.m. The final weigh-in will be Sunday at noon and there will be several classifications including the heaviest boar, heaviest sow and biggest tusks. Organizer of the event, Bobby Baker, said more categories may be added and that the payout will be 75 percent of the entries.
