Steven Richard “Steve” Lucas has been named the new Wood County veterans services officer.

County commissioners acknowledged his appointment Tuesday.

Lucas replaces Christi Billman who resigned last month from the part-time position.

Lucas has been active in veterans activities in the county, including coordinator for the Marine Corps League’s Toys for Tots campaign.

In other personnel changes, county judge office manager Maria Devine announced she is retiring.

County Judge Kevin White announced that Katlyn Jade Neighbors has been hired to take the position.

Misty Goldman is moving from the county auditor’s office to a new position in the county commissioners’ office.
