Manufactured homes damaged in blaze
Mineola Fire Dept. battled a fire on Friday afternoon, Feb. 23 east of the city off U.S. Hwy. 80.
The fire involved a manufactured home and a vehicle. It had spread across the yard and burned underneath an adjacent manufactured home.
The siding on the adjacent home was melted from the radiant heat, according to Fire Marshal David Madsen.
The origin property suffered damage to the outside of the home and some on the inside, he said.
The fire extended into the attic space and had spread the length of the home. The home appears to be a total loss.
Two occupants were home at the time of the fire but escaped. They were evaluated by EMS but were not transported.
The Wood County Fire Marshal was notified.
