Carrying the birthday cake for the Marine Corps League Wood County detachment’s annual ball recently were, from left, Jr. Vice Commandant Wesley Marsh, Ted Willison, Sgt. Jim Biesheuvel and Sergeant-at-arms Jim Bailey. Honored guests traditionally receive the first slices, and this year’s were Gold Star mothers Brenda Powell and Teresa Melton and Gold Star sister Misty Goldman.

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
