The 7th annual Jake Wilson Memorial Amateur Open Bass Tournament at Lake Fork is planned Saturday, April 20, hosted by the Minnow Bucket on Hwy. 154.

Registration must be postmarked by Monday, April 15. Cost for two-man teams is $160, with a free kid fishing shoreline event from 10 a.m.-noon.

Proceeds benefit children’s organizations that advance education and social group participation.

The tournament is held to celebrate the life and legacy of Jake Wilson, who died Aug. 30, 2017  in a traffic crash. He had a passion for fishing, hunting and singing. He served as a youth pastor, worked in prison ministry and led praise and worship services.

Prizes range from $2,000 for first place to $150 for 10th, with a big bass prize of $500.

There will be a special drawing for military veterans for a guided fishing trip. All veterans entered in the tournament will be entered for the drawing. Winner must be present at the tournament weigh-in.
