Performing at the home of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra last week, the Sound of the Swarm Mineola High School band earned “Best in Class” and “Best Band of the Event” during the two-day Meyerson Festival in Dallas on Friday, March 25.
Two soloists also achieved outstanding performance recognition from the judges, Emily Miller and Ali Gonzalez.
“To be able to perform on one of the best stages in the nation is an extreme honor for our students,” band director Chris Brannan said.
Mineola represented Class 3A.
