Mineola civic center having an estate sale
The Mineola Civic Center is hosting an estate sale Thursday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as part of its continuing efforts to upgrade facilities.
The renovations to the Dogwood Room, principal meeting room at the center, were recently completed, and the Magnolia Room is next in line.
Much of the property in the estate sale comes from that more formally-decorated facility, with many of the items apparently donated to the center over the years.
The sale includes furniture, decor and a variety of serving items as well as a kitchenette built into the adjacent room when the center was constructed in the mid-1970s.
The Magnolia Room will receive many of the same upgrades as the Dogwood, with new lighting, floor covering and sound system.
The upgrades will make the room more functional for a wider variety of groups.
Improvements have also been made outside, with new pickle ball courts, a refresh of the main entrance on Newsom St. and a new sign along Hwy. 37.
