Quitman has selected the 2017-2018 Cheer Squads for Quitman ISD. “We had a fantastic turnout for our try-outs this year, and we feel like the cheer program is growing stronger as each year passes,” Ashley Rye, high school cheer coach said. “This year we have welcomed a new coach to our JV squad, Ashley Veach. The junior high squad will continue to be coached by Elysha Warren.”

The squads are eager to get to work preparing for next year and want to see everyone at the sporting events next year helping them cheer on our Quitman Bulldogs.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Come on over to Mineola’s beautiful Historic Select Theater and hear the Lake Country Symphonic Band’s Christmasy “Everything Christmas” concert.

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
