We made it through the holidays. A new year is on the horizon!

As you may have noticed, we were closed Saturday, December 22. We will be closed on Tuesday, January 1 for New Years but will reopen on Wednesday, January 2 at 9 a.m.

The Friends of the Library hosted a wonderful Open House on December 13 and we would like to thank them for all the good food and entertainment. We would also like to thank our special guest, Santa Claus, for stopping by during his busiest time of year.

The Friends will meet next on January 3 at 1 p.m. in the Library to make plans for the coming year and confirm upcoming activities.

Children’s programs will resume on January 8. The Library is not scheduling anything for the children because of potential travel plans for family, so we will begin again in January.

In our next column, I will tell you about how many people came through the Library doors and what all was offered in 2018. Cannot wait to write about all of that!

The Library Book Club will meet on January 17 at 6 p.m. to discuss its next selection. Stop by the front desk and ask for the title of the book.

East Texas Library Friends will meet on Saturday, December 29 to discuss “An Innocent Man” by James Patterson.

Thank you to all who support the Mineola Memorial Library. We could not do this without the support of our community.
