Mineola Memorial Library Notes
The year is winding down quickly. Do you need some inspiration for a holiday meal or a craft? Stop by the Library and see if we have a book that can help solve your dilemma.
Our annual board meeting will be Thursday, Dec. 13 at 4 p.m. We hope you will attend to learn who the board members are and what the Library has accomplished this past year.
At 5 p.m., after the board meeting, we will have our annual Open House hosted by the Friends of the Mineola Memorial Library. Finger foods and punch will be available, and we will have musical entertainment and a visit from a friend from the North Pole.
We do hope you will join us at both events.
The Library will be closed Saturday, Dec. 22 so that our staff may spend time with their families. We will reopen on Wednesday, Dec. 26 at 9 a.m.
Two book clubs will be meeting this month. The Library book club will meet Thursday, Dec. 20 at 6 p.m. to discuss Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. We’ve all seen a movie, but how many have read the book? Join us for a discussion about this holiday tale and discover our next read.
East Texas Library Friends will meet on Dec. 29 at 2 p.m. to discuss John Grisham’s The Innocent Man. Go to goodreads.com and find the East Texas Library Friends group for the address of the meeting in Rains County.
We wish all of you the very merriest of holidays. We hope to see you soon. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Donations have been made to the Library by the Wood County Democrat Club and numerous individuals giving books and funds toward the Book Drive for Caring & Sharing.
