How quickly February has flown by. Here we are in March.

Many thanks are due to participating businesses and individuals who made our first Restaurant Week a rousing success. We are so blessed to live in an area where community supports community. Thank you very much.

March 4 at 2 p.m. East Texas Library Friends Book Club will meet in the Mineola Memorial Library to discuss Alice Feeney’s “Sometimes I Lie.” We will also add some books to our reading list. Even if you have not read the book, we’d love for you to stop by and meet this group.

American Girls will meet on Saturday, March 11 to learn about Samantha and what school and life was like in 1904. This program is for girls age seven and older along with their mother. You must sign up by Thursday, March 9 in order to participate.

Coming March 18 from 1 to 3 p.m., the library will have an open house in conjunction with the Sesquicentennial Celebration of Mineola. We will present a program about the history of the library and serve refreshments. If you’ve never been to visit us or it’s been a while or if you are a regular, we would love to see you Saturday, March 18.

Have you logged into your account with us? You can do so by accessing your account from the main page of our website: mineolalibrary.com. Once logged in, you can see a history of what you have read, you can see what you have currently checked out (and, if your account is current and no one is waiting on material) you can renew the things you have checked out once. The bookmark option acts like a “to read” list where you can put items to read at a later time.

We continue to offer Toddler Story Time on Tuesdays at 9 a.m. for children 18 months to three years and their parent/caregiver and Pre-School Story Time on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. for children 3-5 years with their parent/caregiver.

Mineola Memorial Library is a 501(c)3, non-profit and your donations may be tax-deductible.
