July was a busy month. We wrapped up the summer reading program: Camp We Read. Our smallest group was 19 participants and our largest was around 35 participants.

We closed out the program with ice cream from Grandma Cleda’s and treat bags including items from Cowburners, Dairy Queen and Panda Express. We had drawings for books, games, movie gift cards, and two gift cards to Wal-Mart. We received very positive responses to our efforts.

Preschool Story Time also wrapped up for the summer with eight participants. They, too, received treat bags with bubbles, play-dough and sweets.

Toddler Story Time will continue on Tuesdays at 9 a.m. for children 18 months to 3 years with their parent/caregiver. They hear a story, complete an activity and enjoy together time.

As many of you may have noticed, the library sold its annex location and had its last book sale on July 8. Because we no longer have that ample space, we are not accepting physical donations of books, movies or audio books at this time. Cash donations are still accepted and appreciated.

We are busy fitting items from the annex into our space. Lots of tables, chairs, cleaning products, etc need to be organized and made to fit. Please be patient with us while we accomplish this goal in an organized, timely fashion. We don’t want to rush and not know where our supplies are located.

The Mineola Memorial Library is a 501(c)3, non-profit and your donations may be tax deductible. We received a donation from Linda Rhodes.
