Mineola Memorial Library Notes
We are in the last few weeks of 2023. Can you believe how quickly time has passed?
Thank you to those who shopped our tiny little book sale on Nov. 18. We appreciate your business. We will do another one sometime next year. Watch for further information.
Upcoming things at the library include our annual book drive for Caring and Sharing. We are asking for new children’s books. You may drop those off at the library until Dec. 1.
That will also be the day for the bake sale hosted by City National Bank with proceeds benefiting the library. They are located at 200 N. Pacific, and besides hosting a bake sale, they will be having the Grinch visit between 2 and 6 that day for pictures. Contact CNB for details. We do appreciate their support of the library.
Dec. 14, a Thursday, from 4 to 6 p.m. will be our annual open house. We will begin at 4 p.m. with a State of the Library address, followed by refreshments. Around 5:15 p.m. we will have a visit from Santa Claus and you may take photos with him and he will also read a story or two.
Even with all of these fun events, we will continue to offer Toddler Story Time on Tuesday morning at 9 a.m., Math Club for K-5th grade on Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m. on Dec. 5 and 12, Pre School Story Time on Wednesday, Dec. 6 and 13 at 10 a.m., Home-school Heroes at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 1 and 15, and the Last Green Craft of the year will be Thursday, Dec. 14 at 10 a.m. making wooden slice ornaments.
Hope to see you soon. Remember, the Mineola Memorial Library is a 501(c)3, non-profit and your donations may be tax-deductible. We have received donations from Mineola Community Chest and the Elizabeth Denton English chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution.
You can find us at 301 N. Pacific in Mineola, on the web at www.mineolalibrary.com or on Facebook (be sure you look at the Mineola Memorial Library in Texas).
