Mineola Pilot Club hosting annual Alzheimer’s walk

Posted

For many years, the Mineola Pilot Club has held its annual Alzheimer’s Walk at the Mineola Civic Center. This year on Nov. 18 everyone interested in honoring the memory of a loved one will gather at the Mineola gazebo on Commerce St.

Registration will be at 5:30 p.m. with a candle light ceremony at 6. Donations to Alzheimer’s may be made through the Mineola Pilot Club. Afterward, those who wish can “Walk the Block” for Alzheimer’s.

In addition to the annual walk, Logan’s Restaurant will hold a fundraiser for the Mineola Pilot Club. The club was unable to hold its major fundraiser for community projects  last spring, which was a mystery dinner theater, due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Everyone enjoys a fundraiser requiring food, and Logan’s has agreed to donate a portion of lunch and dinner to the Pilot Club. Food choices will be limited to Logan’s delicious hamburgers, a wrap or salad from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Brain health and awareness is one of the focuses of Pilot International.

In compliance with COVID guidelines, masks and social distancing will be practiced.
