1:13 a.m. A man reported he observed two men at the Chevron who appeared to be installing a pump skimmer. They fled in a white Tahoe. An investigator located a skimmer on the pumps. The investigator checked pumps at all gas stations in the city. and found two skimmers at the Valero on S. Pacific St. Assistance on this case will be sought from the Smith County Task Force.

11:05 a.m. O’Reilly Auto Parts reported a theft when a man walked out with a power tool. On Feb. 25, officers attempted to arrest Stacy Lynn Gipson, 52, Mineola for theft under $2,500, with two or more previous convictions (state jail felony). He broke away and ran. After a foot chase around McWhorter, Miller St. area, Gipson was placed in custody. He was also charged with evading arrest or detention.

4:38 p.m. A neighbor on E. McDonald St. reported a door open at a residence next door. An officer spoke with the complainant and the home owner. No signs of criminal activity were determined.

11:31 p.m. Union Pacific asked for assistance for a man standing too close to the train, attempting to video. An officer spoke with the man. He agreed he needed to stand back farther next time.

11:51 p.m. A resident on Stone St. reported her sons got into an argument and one of them broke a door and would not leave. Officers spoke with everyone. The mother refused to file charges for the damage. The son was told to stay somewhere else for the night.

Feb. 21

11:47 a.m. Officers assisted with traffic control for People’s Telephone on Greenville Ave. for repairs.

3:40 p.m. A bank on W. Broad St. reported a man harassing employees and customers. The man was served a criminal trespass warning at the bank’s request.

5:42 p.m. A DPS trooper transported Michelle Annette Morris, 39, of Quitman to  the station for local warrants after she was stopped. Morris had seven warrants involving traffic and failure to appear.

10:11 p.m. A man driving on W. Broad St. reported a vehicle threw eggs at his vehicle as they passed by. An officer responded to the area, but both vehicles were already out of the city limits.

10:40 p.m. An officer assisted a Wood County Deputy on a traffic stop to translate for them on Meadowbrook Street.

11:14 p.m. A resident on Brenda Lane reported someone running over her rose bushes. An officer spoke with the neighbor who admitted to accidentally running over them and agreed to pay for them.

Feb. 22

12:11 a.m. An employee at the VFW reported her vehicle getting hit in the parking lot. The complainant stated no one left any information. This is under investigation.

12:44 a.m. An officer assisted EMS with a medical call at a residence on N. Johnson St.

3:18 p.m. A motorist reported a truck was riding very close to her bumper and almost hit her, and the truck passed and slammed on his brakes. An officer stopped the truck and gave him a warning for his behavior, since the officer did not observe what took place.

9:49 p.m. Amye Love Robards, 47, of Lindale, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance under one gram after she was stopped for an expired registration at Patten and Sycamore St.

Feb. 23

12:43 a.m. A disturbance was reported at the VFW involving a man and woman. Witnesses reported the man was being rough with the woman by squeezing her cheeks. The woman did not wish to file charges. A family violence report was filed and a field sobriety was conducted before the two left.

11:30 a.m. An officer assisted a stranded motorist on Greenville Ave.

5:53 p.m. A man reported that he had been threatened on Facebook. An officer spoke with the man and determined the person that made the comments lived in Wood County. Wood County S.O. was contacted. A directive patrol was placed on the complainant’s residence.

8:41 p.m. Walmart reported a man in the store who had stolen from the store in the past. The man was issued a criminal trespass warning. Asset Protection later found evidence of a theft while he was in the store and filed a theft report. This is under investigation.

10:16 p.m. A debit card was found at a bank on N. Pacific St. The card was turned in and the owner was notified.

10:25 p.m. Walmart reported a theft that was captured on video. This is under investigation.

Feb. 24

8:14 a.m. A mother reported her 13-year-old would not get in the vehicle to go to school and then walked away from the residence. The juvenile was located and the parents took custody.

11:22 a.m. An employee at Walmart reported setting her phone down on an aisle. When the employee came back to the get the phone it was gone. The phone was pinged to a residence in the Alba area. A Wood County deputy was contacted to go to the residence. The phone was retrieved by the deputy. Charges are pending for the female who took the phone.

6:36 p.m. Officers assisted the Wood County Precinct 2 Constable with a vehicle search in the 100 block of N. Pacific St.

9:01 p.m. A resident reported a neighbor was spinning tires and driving fast, which caused concern for kids in the area. Officers went to the residence to speak with the resident where the vehicle belonged. When officers knocked on the garage door, the officer observed the man with a rifle in his hand. When the officer announced his presence the man put the gun down and everything was fine.

9:39 p.m. A disturbance was reported at the residence on Dubose Street from the prior call. A woman at the residence reported the man was going off on everyone and grabbed the phone away and disconnected 911 while the female was on the phone. When officers arrived the man was settled down and no one wanted to file charges. He was transported by an officer to another location for the night.

9:48 p.m. Officers were requested at the Little Dribblers Gym after the game, on University Street, when a concerned subject stated a few parents appeared to be in an argument. When officers arrived the parents had already left.

Feb. 25

1:59 a.m. Officers assisted EMS with a medical call at Walmart. The subject was transported by EMS.

3:34 a.m. An officer assisted a Wood County Deputy on a traffic stop at W. Kilpatrick and Johnson St.

8:48 a.m. Officers assisted with traffic control on N. Pacific St. while the street department conducted maintenance.

8:54 a.m. A license plate was found in the intersection of Pacific and Broad St. The owner was notified.

9:27 a.m. Stacy Lynn Gipson, 52, of Mineola, was arrested for a theft warrant and evading arrest.

11:06 a.m. A man with an account at a local bank reported fraudulent fuel charges on his account at the RaceTrac in Fort Worth. 

7:32 p.m. A debit card was found in the Dollar General parking lot. The card was turned in and an officer made contact with the owner.

9:55 p.m. Stacey Lee Little, 50, of Longview, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance over one gram under four grams after she was stopped for an obstructed license plate on N. Pacific St.

Feb. 26

11:59 a.m. A resident on Frances St. reported she was leaving her residence and saw a man parked across the street calling her cat. She told him it was her cat. The man left and came back trying to get her cat to come again. The resident requested extra patrol.

12:21 p.m. The Andrews Center reported an older male in the lobby who was combative. Officers responded to assist. An officer transported the man to the hospital in Quitman because he refused to ride in an ambulance.

7:15 p.m. A reckless driver was reported stopped in the roadway and started speeding up and slowing down. An officer located the vehicle at N. Pacific St. and McDonald St. The officer attempted to get the vehicle stopped with lights and sirens while pursuing in a slow manner. The vehicle continued down several streets, then stopped at a residence on N. Newsom St. The driver was determined to be an elderly individual who was headed home.

7:23 p.m. An officer assisted with a stranded motorist on N. Pacific St. at Greenville Avenue. A wheel came off the vehicle, so it was placed in a safe place off the roadway.

7:52 p.m. A disturbance was reported at a residence on Brenda Lane. Bryan Lee Winstead, 32, of Sulphur Springs, was arrested for assault bodily injury and terroristic threat. Winstead assaulted his girlfriend and threatened to burn down the house.
