DECEMBER 12, 2018

A hit and run was reported in the Walmart parking lot at 12:10 p.m. A witness left a note on the victim’s vehicle indicating they witnessed a red vehicle hit his vehicle. This is under investigation

At 4:22 p.m. a reckless driver was reported coming into the city from 37 North. An officered located the vehicle and assessed the driving but did not witness any erratic driving.

At 5:14 p.m. another reckless driver was reported driving in and out of vehicle at a high rate of speed headed northbound on 69 South. An officer responded but did not locate the vehicle.

A resident on Buchanan Street reported the neighbor’s visitors parking in her yard. An officer spoke with the man and told him not to be parking in someone else’s yard.

DECEMBER 11, 2018

At 10:03 a.m. an officer assisted with traffic control on Stone and Broad Street when a water leak and ground erosion was reported.

An officer assisted EMS when a man was unresponsive at Brookshire’s at 11:49 a.m. He was transported by EMS.

At 5:15 p.m. an employee with Facebook reported a welfare concern in reference to a man stating he wished to harm himself. Officers spoke with him at an address on Goodson Circle. He stated he did post some stuff on Facebook, but he did not intend to hurt himself. After officers spoke with the man they believed the man did not intend to hurt himself.

At 6:58 p.m. a resident on Second Street reported medication taken from her residence. This is under investigation.

DECEMBER 10, 2018

Wylie Police Department requested a welfare check on a resident on Stone Street at 5:45 a.m. The man’s friend contacted Wylie P.D. when he became concerned. An officer went the residence and spoke with the person of concern and everything was fine.

At 8:27 a.m. a woman reported someone possibly taking mail from mailboxes on Gerald Street.

At 9:28 a.m. a business on East Broad Street reported a possible package found in cash given to a cashier. An officer found it to be an empty baggie.

At 10:24 a.m. a woman reported an assault that took place the night before at her boyfriend’s residence on South Pacific Street. This is under investigation.

At 10:29 a.m. a man reported he was assaulted the night before by a man known to him. This is under investigation.

At 3:24 a welfare concern was reported for a man walking on East Broad that appeared in poor health. An officer located him. The man said he had just had surgery and needed a ride. The officer gave him a ride to a residence. A woman was also reported to be walking, and she appeared to need help. The officer found her on North Newsom, and she said she was just out walking.

At 3:58 p.m. a woman reported she was sent to pick up a family member’s child up at school and she was not there. The school resource chief knew where the child was and everything was fine.

DECEMBER 9, 2018

A woman reported a man was in the Walmart parking lot at 11:58 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8 driving an S-10 pickup. He drove up to her, made inappropriate comments and exposed himself.

At 2:26 p.m. a debit card was found in a bank ATM on North Pacific Street. It was returned to its owner.

A reckless driver was reported on Loop 564 failing to maintain a single lane of traffic. The officer was able to stop the vehicle on U.S. Hwy 80. The driver was fine with no signs of intoxication.

A disturbance was reported at a residence on East McDonald Street at 3:15 p.m. The complainant reported that her ex-husband was at her residence verbally abusing her. The ex-husband left when the person called police.

At 8:44 p.m. harassment was reported by a woman who said a co-worker was making inappropriate comments. She was encouraged to report this to her employer.

A resident on West Broad reported suspicious activity when a person was seen peeking into the front window of the resident at 8:44 p.m. An officer patrolled the area but did not find anyone matching the description.

DECEMBER 8, 2018

At 2:29 a.m. a reckless driver was reported to have turned into the Walmart parking lot. An officer found the subjects in the vehicle but did not witness any signs of intoxication.

At 10:03 a.m. a man on Thurman Street reported a repossession company was at his residence to get his vehicle, but he was not at home. He reported that a family member was sitting in the vehicle, and he wanted the tow truck to leave his property because it was tearing up his yard. An officer explained to the tow truck driver that this is a civil matter and the man requested him off his property. He also explained that the driver’s company needed to get the proper paperwork to repossess the vehicle.

At 12:26 p.m. a woman reported that she left a laptop at a friend’s residence on West Patten Street, and when she went back to get it they would not give it to her. After an officer spoke with both sides he determined the matter to be civil.

At 1:26 p.m. a building owner on West Broad asked to speak with an officer regarding his options on non-payment of rent by a business. The officer explained that the situation is a civil matter.

At 3:32 p.m. Walmart reported the presence of a person who was not permitted to be in the store. Richard Allen Nicholson, 60, Mineola, was arrested for criminal trespass.

After a traffic stop on South Pacific Street at 10:21 p.m., Jack Bryant Hodge, 38, of Alba was arrested for a Smith County failure to appear on a DWI warrant. He also was cited for failure to display registration and expired registration.

At 11:56 p.m. the Wood County S.O. requested assistance on a vehicle wreck with an unconscious occupant just outside the city on Hwy 69 North. An officer responded until EMS and a DPS Trooper arrived.

DECEMBER 7, 2018

At 5:03 p.m. an officer was asked to speak with a family member after a child custody exchange on Truman Street. The officer reported that the situation is a civil matter.

A witness reported a hit and run in the Walmart parking lot at 6:36 p.m. An officer stopped the vehicle based on the witness’s quick response. No charges were filed; information was exchanged.

A theft of a firearm was reported at a residence on North Line Street at 9:52 p.m. The suspect was known by the victim and had been staying at the residence.

At 10:09 p.m. a disturbance was reported on Pegues Street. A family had received a Facebook message requesting a call to police because a boyfriend was throwing property out in the rain. An officer responded and found two people engaged in an argument with no physical violence. The officer explained it was a civil matter between the two.

DECEMBER 6, 2018

At 10:49 a.m. a welfare concern was reported by a father in reference to an adult daughter on North Pacific Street. A man had been coming by her residence representing himself as representing the Census Bureau. The officer told the father to have his daughter contact the Police Department.

At 5:15 p.m. a woman called from a business on NE Loop 564 stating a man was in her vehicle and she did not want him leaving with her and going to her residence. An officer responded and spoke with the man who then called for a ride by a friend to his residence.

At 8:26 p.m. a reckless driver was reported on West Broad Street by Wood County. The only description was a truck or SUV. The officers were unable to locate the vehicle after patrolling the area.

At 9:19 p.m. Edgar Villalobos, 25, of Arlington was arrested on South Pacific Street for driving with an invalid license, operating an unregistered vehicle and having defective headlamps.
