Mineola Police Report, January 3-9

Jan. 9
At 9:04 p.m. an officer assisted a stranded motorist on North Pacific Street.

Jan. 8
At 7:47 a.m. an officer assisted with an accident at Loop 564 and CR. 2220. The accident was turned over to DPS.
At 9:59 a.m. an officer assisted EMS with a medical call at Walmart.
At 2:59 p.m. a theft of service was reported by Aaron’s Rental when a customer rented property and did not pay for it, or return it.
At 4:19 p.m. an officer assisted with an accident that occurred at Loop 564 and 69 N. until DPS arrived.
At 4:40 p.m. a vehicle struck a meter box on West Broad next to Sonic and left without reporting the incident.
At 4:53 p.m. a man reported that he was selling property online and received a fraudulent cashier’s check.

Jan. 7
At 6:36 a.m., a report was received involving two people walking down the street at Good Street and Wigley Street that were possibly intoxicated. An officer located three juveniles and transported them to a residence on Wigley Street and turned the two females over to one of the parents. The male lived across the street from where the three were located. He was sent home by the officer.
At 9:20 a.m. an officer responded to McDaniel Street on a medical call and assisted a family member and EMS in CPR on an unresponsive man. A 73-year-old man was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Janae Holland.
At 1:08 p.m. a landlord was reportedly burning a mattress at a rent house on West Broad Street. The Fire Department was called to extinguish the fire.
At 1:24 p.m. Wood County S.O. asked for assistance in locating a stolen vehicle at a residence on Cheek Street. The vehicle was at the residence. An officer stood by until Wood County S.O. could take over the investigation.
At 6:54 p.m. a disturbance was reported on McWhorter Street. Officers responded to the residence and found the disturbance to be verbal only. The two separated for the night.
At 8:10 p.m. an officer assisted with a medical call on North Johnson Street.
At 8:44 p.m. a disturbance was reported between a male and female at a residence on West Blair Street. Officers responded to the call and called EMS for the male subject that was having complications with a medical issue. The officer noted the argument was over the complications and everything was fine.
At 11:36 p.m. loud music was reported on Baker Street. An officer went to the residence and spoke with the tenant. The music was turned down for the night.

Jan. 6
At 1:18 a.m. a suspicious person was reported walking around in the 300 Blk. East Broad. The man was waiting on the train to make a stop at 9 a.m. An officer took the man down to the convenience store to stay and wait for the train.
At 3:53 a.m. a disturbance was reported on West Blair Street. The caller could hear a man and woman yelling. The officer found the noise to be a loud birthday party at Stone and West Kilpatrick Street. The officer spoke with the people at the party and told them to hold the noise down.
At 10:20 a.m. a cat bite was reported at the Wood Memorial Nursing Home. One of the residents was bit while out on the back patio. The cat is quarantined at the animal shelter for 10 days.
At 5:56 p.m. gunshots were reported at the Mimosa and Peachtree area. Officers patrolled the area but did not hear anything.
At 6:08 p.m. gunshots were reported again in the same area. Officers patrolled the area and spoke with several residents in the area that did not hear anything.
At 8:12 p.m. a resident on Meadowbrook reported someone knocking on their door wanting water for their vehicle. The resident did not feel safe and notified the department. An officer responded and assisted.
At 9:45 p.m., an officer assisted with EMS when a cashier at a business on North Pacific had medical complications. The cashier was transported to the hospital by EMS.

Jan. 5
At 3:05 p.m. a disturbance was reported involving two males fighting behind a business on West Broad Street. Officers responded to the call and found the two males. Both said it was just a verbal argument.
At 4:35 p.m. an officer assisted EMS with an elderly woman that had fallen at her residence on Royal Lane. The woman was transported to the hospital.

Jan. 4
At 10:07 a.m. gunshot wwere reported behind Sycamore Street in a swamp. It was believed to be duck hunters. The game warden was notified to investigate.
At 12:38 p.m. a bank card was left at a convenience store. An officer picked up the card and delivered it to Mineola Community Bank.
At 9:31 p.m. kids walking around knocking on doors was reported on East McDonald Street. An officer located the juveniles and they did admit to ringing a doorbell. They were sent home for the night.

Jan. 3
At 2:56 p.m. a theft was reported at Walmart that occurred on January 2, 2019. The case is under investigation.
At 3:51 p.m. a hit and run was reported in the McDonald’s drive through. A maroon suburban backed up into another vehicle. The suburban then left the parking lot without leaving any information. This is under investigation.
At 9:08 p.m., a child custody issue was reported on Meadowbrook Street involving two children. The children were returned to their father and both parties were told to contact an attorney if needed.
