Mineola school board sets plans to find interim superintendent
The search for an interim superintendent to take the helm at Mineola Independent School District (MISD) has begun.
The MISD board met in special session Aug. 27 to discuss the process of hiring an interim superintendent voted to hire an additional teacher for fifth grade. Board President John Abbott appointed trustees Jill Quiambao and Glenn Dossett to join him on a committee to go through applications sent in from those seeking to serve in the interim capacity.
Dr. Kim Tunnell’s resignation was accepted at a special called MISD school board meeting Aug. 22.
“We have already had several applications sent in. I would like to meet next Thursday and go over these. We will try to get it down to possibly three,” Abbott said. “We will see how many applications come in.”
In the matter of the fifth grade teacher, the board unanimously approved the employment of Jamie Ellison to the position.
