MISD grant to buy more tech for COVID
Mineola schools will receive a grant for $13,250 to purchase Chromebooks and internet hot spots as part of the state CARES funding for COVID-19.
The district applied for the state grant and received 50% of the funding to make those purchases, including 100 Chromebooks.
The school board approved the deal Monday in a special meeting.
Also Monday the board agreed to amend the budget by about $110,000 for supplies and staff training expenses related to COVID-19.
The resignation of Kerry Van Cleave was accepted as high school special education teacher. Jill Brown was hired as replacement.
