Nature Preserve hosts E150 cycling challenge
The E150 was not a traditional race but a competition to see how many laps a rider can make in 2.5 hours. Elite Bicycles sponsored the event. The Nature Preserve now boasts several bike repair stations, recently installed as part of a grant project. Mineola’s mountain biking course is described by E150 organizers as short and fast with a mix of single and double track, giving riders plenty of opportunities to pass. Sunday’s cool, overcast weather was more accommodating to riders than spectators. The event drew roughly 75-125 visitors.
