Pilot Club readies benefit mystery theater

Dig into the back of your closet and pull out those ‘70s duds for the Pilot Club of Mineola’s “Staying Alive” murder mystery dinner Friday, April 19 at the Mineola Civic Center. The play is co-written by Bryant Cox, Mineola High School drama teacher, and Richelle Buller. Tickets are $35 which includes the dinner, show and the chance to win multiple exciting items. Doors open at 6 p.m. with dinner at 6:30.

Pilots will have their famous bucket item drawings for a $5 ticket. Prizes are valued from $50-$250. They include a Stanley cup, Cuisinart gourmet gas grill, handmade lap quilt by Pam Fletcher, four green fees to the Gladewater golf course, Bryan’s Cheesecake gift certificate, Mineola Meat Packing gift certificate, Adirondack chairs made by Glen Dossett, gift certificate from Cakes & Cuties by Ashley Veach, turquoise necklace and an assortment of gift cards from area businesses.

Donny Fleenor of Crappie Freaks Lake Fork is donating for the live auction a fishing guide trip for two valued at $600, which includes $200 of bait. MHS Anchors will be selling purses for $20 with the winner of the purse drawing receiving a Louis Vuitton bag. Celebrity waiters will be serving the meals.  Tips are welcome and included in the fundraiser.

Reservations must be made by Sunday, April 14 by calling Shelly at 903-530-8729. Proceeds fund the Mineola Pilot Club’s many brain-related projects such as BrainMinders for children, TBI Camps and Project Lifesaver.
