QISD board approves tax rate, budget
The Quitman ISD school board approved a new property tax rate and the budget for the upcoming school year at a noon meeting Monday.
The board approved a tax rate of $0.8989 per $100 valuation.
The tax rate includes maintenance and operations at .$7575 and $.1414 for principal and interest on debts for the total $.8989. The new budget calls for instruction costs at $7,271,004 compared to last year’s of $8,043,145.
Total estimated revenue for the district is $15,406,004 for the new budget as opposed to last year’s revenue which was $15,492,145.
There was no public attendance at the open meeting. The budget was based on average daily student attendance in the district of 1,085.
