Quitman honors trustees during School Board Appreciation Month

Posted

In honor of January being school board appreciation month, Quitman ISD Superintendent Rhonda Turner recognized the trustees for their service to the district.

With “Planting Seeds of Success” as the theme, trustees were given a planter and tools as well as a ribeye steak meal.

“Each of you brings different talents and expertise to our board and in turn that filters down to our children. On behalf of the 1,143 children that we serve, the 179 employees and the countless numbers of community members and parents, thank you so much for what you do,” Turner said. “I know that some caladiums and work gloves doesn’t go a long way in saying thank you, but we do thank you and we do appreciate what you do for our children because without you guys making the decisions you make we wouldn’t be able to do any of things we do at our school district.”

The QISD school board consists of President Jeremy Smith, Vice President Doug Cameron, Secretary Royce Patterson, and trustees James Hicks, Jane Herring, Michael Hipp II and Raymond Peek.
