My Thi Tran

Services for My Thi Tran, 88, of Quitman, were held Thursday, July 28 at Roselawn Crematory in Winnsboro at 2 p.m.

Ms. Tran died July 26, 2016 in Quitman. She was born January 2, 1928 in South Vietnam to Truong Van Luom and Lam Thi Tau. She lived here for 36 years, coming from Vietnam. She was a Buddhist nun at the Linh Son Amida Center in Quitman.

Survivors include one son, Truong Van Hung of Garland; one daughter, Truong Thi Thanh of Sacramento, Califorinia; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
