Quitman Pilot Club planning chili cookoff

The Pilot Club of Quitman is gearing up for its annual benefit chili cookoff Friday, Jan. 26 at the Carroll Green Civic Center in Quitman.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. Chili cooks will be competing for prizes in three categories: Judges’ choice, people’s choice and overall booth/showmanship. First through third will be awarded.

People’s choice is chosen by the attendees based on tips.

The club will also announce the annual honor of the grand marshal, honoring a person who has supported the club and the community.

The club is soliciting both chili booth participants and sponsorships.

The cookoff is one of the club’s two major fundraisers during the year that helps to fund its many community activities.

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert
