Quitman Police Report
The Quitman Police Dept. answered 209 calls for service between March 1-17. The department issued 22 traffic citations, gave 39 traffic warnings, took 10 reports and made two arrests.
March 3
Officer Joseph Gatewood was dispatched to the 700 block of Loyd St. for a verbal disturbance. Gatewood discovered Marcus Caswell III was in violation of bond conditions and was placed under arrest.
March 13
Officer Gatewood initiated a traffic stop in the 500 block of E. Goode St. A passenger in the vehicle failed to identify and was found to be a fugitive. After being identified by another officer, Nathan Clanton was placed under arrest for failure to identify fugitive intentionally giving false information. Clanton had Wood County warrants for evading arrest or detention, failure to appear/bond forfeiture prohibited substance in a correctional facility, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
