Reading and patriotism
Members of the Library Outreach Committee of the Elizabeth Denton English Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution decorated the Mineola Library cabinet to welcome fall and celebrate Thanksgiving. DAR activities to support local libraries are based on the historical mission of the National Society to support projects and service opportunities which highlight historic preservation, education and patriotism. The Library Outreach Committee focuses on drawing attention to the needs and value of local libraries while encouraging residents to appreciate the invaluable resource they are to each community. Chapter members are actively involved in working with librarians to assist in any effort they may have. Shown are committee members Susan Few, Lucille Gilbreath and Mary Sockwell.
