Richard Irving “Rick” Westervelt, Jr., 1966-2019

Celebration of Life services will be scheduled by the family at a later date for Richard Irving “Rick” Westervelt, Jr., 53, of Alba who passed away Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019 in Winnsboro. He was born April 11, 1966 in Pekin, Ill. to the late Richard Irving Westervelt, Sr. and Frances Lucille “Toodie” Davis Westervelt (Maxwell). Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home of Alba.

Rick had lived in Wood County for 33 years, moving from Mesquite. He married Cheryl Lynn Reynolds on Jan. 21, 2004 in Emory. He was a member of East Texas Patriot Guard, a former member of the Alba Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Alba Arthriders Motorcycle Club. 

Rick is survived by his wife of 15 years, Cheryl Westervelt of Dallas; stepfather, David Maxwell of Alba; step-son, Lucas Taylor Reynolds of Gladewater; daughters, Emily Nicole Westervelt of Atoka, Okla., Chasity Kay Westervelt of Okla. and step-daughter Regina Lynn McCartney and husband Tim of Monterey, La.; brothers and spouses, Timothy and Lisa Westervelt of Alba, David and Jess Maxwell of Chilton, Wisc. and Steve and MaeRean Maxwell of Chilton, Wisc.; sisters, Melissa Williams of Alba and Jamie Westervelt of Tucson, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
